I had a whole bottle of wine on Tuesday, June 5th, consumed from 3:00pm to about 6:00pm, will I pass the ETG test today on Friday, June 8th, at 2:00pm. I'm 5'4 and weigh about 125lbs, and don't get much exercise.

A bottle of wine contains 25 fl oz which converts to 5 standard drinks (US) or 70 g of pure alcohol. The EtG created by this amount of alcohol should be cleared in under 70 hours. See Wojcik & Hawthorne (http://alcalc.oxfordjournals.org/content/42/4/317.full#T1)

There is never a guarantee with this test but generally you should be clear.

Please let us know the results.

NOTICE: Any person or entity that is subjected to or relies on EtG testing should read this Advisory issued by the US Department of Health and Human Services, September 2006 and remains in effect as of date of this posting. Copy available here > US DHHS Advisory (http://kap.samhsa.gov/products/manuals/advisory/pdfs/0609_biomarkers.pdf)

Thank you for responding so quickly, but I think 65 hours is more accurate than 70 hours. Do you think I'll pass the ETG test?

Given the amount of alcohol v time most people will be clear at no longer than 60 hours. There is no way of predicting your personal result.

There are examples on this site of people passing under 60 hours after having consumed 2-3 times as much wine. Still that cannot predict your results involving a test that is erratic, unpredictable and often carelessly administered.

Do you know the cutoff for the test?

Again, thank you for responding so quickly. I have read other posts, some posts say they passed in under 65 hours, most say they're in great shape and have a high metabolism, drink tons of water, etc... which I'm not and don't do. So, I'm going to hope that "most people" would include people that are in average shape and not that active. Anyway, I'll be taking the test this afternoon at around 3 or 4:00pm (the later the better) results take a few days, but I'll let you know what the results were.

Well, I haven't heard anything, and have taken 2 other random tests since. So I guess I passed. Cut off was 500
