9 month old Pitbull chews up the Bromeliad flowers, he digs up all the plants from PLASTIC pots. Chews anything he can get hold of during the night including a wooden chair. He was sent to a Police Dog Training School for 3 days, and has now become very leash-shy due to the experience. Need to get him used to walking on the lead again. He is aggressive toward other dogs - worry about introducing another puppy into the household. He runs towards cars that drive in to the property. Jumps on the people as soon as they get out of the car.

The owner needs to get training WITH the dog. The owner is 90% of the training, and must continue the training every minute of every day until the dog is trained. You have let the dog take control for 9 months when things like chewing should have stopped by 3 months. Now you need even more careful diligence. Pen the dog in a large play area inside and out when you can't be there, and work with him when you are there. Substitute a small, defined set of objects he can chew on each time he starts on what he shouldn't. Kong, rope knot, rawhide, squeaky toy. Put the leash on as soon as someone drives in and hold him 1 foot close when the visitor greets you. Spend 20 minutes twice a day on come, sit, stay, down, heel. Praise and pat him each time he does something right. Give a tiny treat every 10 times or so, but not an exact number that he will expect. Buy a book on puppy training. Again, most of this is training YOU.
