On my way to work, I stopped at the stop sign as I usually do. I turned left onto 2-lane divided highway. After I had turned and was moving forward, I heard a car horn. My first thought was that the oncoming car I had seen in the distance did not have time to be that close and blow the horn as if I were in the way. Shortly after the horn - maybe about 3 seconds - I saw a black car moving parallel to me on my passenger side. The black car was on the side of the road. The side of the road was uneven. The airbag did not deploy on the driver's side and a child was in the backseat of the car. The persons in the car were taken to the hospital. They were bruised but not broken. I was cited with failure to yield at stop sign. What should I expect in court and/or from the persons in the black car?

It appears two cars were involved. It is not clear how they were involved. Where did this car come from? Was it, perhaps parked along the side of the road that you turned into and that you did not see it start to move since you were concentrating on oncoming traffic?

What should I expect in court and/or from the persons in the black car?Hello s:

You should expect a hefty fine in court, and to be sued by other driver.
