The chances of you getting pregnant while on your period are slim.
There is only a 25-30% chance of conception each month. Because a woman only releases one egg a month during ovulation, the best time to get pregnant is during your most fertile days, not during your period or any other time. For example, if my menstrual cycle was May 1st, my ovulation day would be May 15th, making my most fertile days from the 12th-17th. A lot of mistakes woman make is not knowing when they ovulate. Its usually 12-14 days after depending on the length of your cycle. The very best day to try to conceive on the day before ovulation as it takes 12 hours for the sperm to attach itself to the egg. Sperm can live up to 3-5 days in a woman's vagina and sperm can only live for 24 hours. So within that time frame everything has to be just right in order for conception to happen. Amongst many other health reasons as well. You want to make sure you are not excessively over weight as that can stop a woman from conceiving, diseases, etc. Many think because they are on birth control for so long that it can delay conception, but that's false. All it takes is one time. I was on birth control for 7 years and am now 8 days late with all negative pregnancy tests but hoping with the blood test I'm having done next week will determine if I am pregnant or not, which I hope I am. Good luck
