I have installed a new split system AC unit. My question is: once I soldered the suption and liquid lines, is it just starting up the unit and ler it run or is it to it.
According to manufacturer instructions, if the line set does not extend more 15" from the condenser to the evaporator it should be OK with the gas that's preloaded on the condenser unit.

Since you didn't mention it... are you aware of evacuating the system with a vacuum pump prior to charging the system with refirdgerant. Or does your system use a water/glycol link to tie the two parts of the system together?

No, I was not aware of the evacuating process. I supposed I should leave that part to a professional.
Anyway the condenser comes loaded with refrigerant and the installation manual says there no need to add extra refrigerant if the lineset does not extend more than 15 feet.

In the lines you had to attach and solder... what do you put into them according to the manual.

From what you said in this answer... if there is no water/antifreze mix used (like in a car radiator) between the condenser and evaporator units then you literally have to suck out ALL the air from that part of the lines or its never going to work right.. because those lines would then have to be filled with refriderant.
