Bladder type reserve tank not filling. Water is entering house without a problem from well but is bypassing the reserve tank. As a result, there is a lot of air in the line. This started happening after we returned from a two week vacation. Any suggestions what might be wrong?

What is the setting on the control box and what's the bladder tank charged at?
here is a lot of air in the line. The bladder tank can't interject air in your system. That comes from the well point sucking air, You do hold prime don't you? Below is how bladder tanks operate. Check the charge, It should be 2 PSI UNDER the cut in point of the control box. with the pump shut off at the breaker and the pressure bled off by opening a cold water faucet. Good luck, Tom

You are pumping some air mixed in the water. As this happened, the bottom half of the bladder tank filled with air, which is why it seems empty.
Is your pump in the well or above ground?

Hi,
My pump is in the well 150 feet down and I can see water at about 20 or 30 feet. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Thank you Tom.
Yes, it holds prime. I re-sealed the well cap and will try to bleed the line. Thank you for the diagrams and help.

Wait a minute. Something does not make sense here. If your pump is in the well, then prime is not the problem. Submersible pumps do not need to be primed. So I am not sure what you mean when you say it holds prime. That would only apply to a jet pump which is above ground.
The well cap is not your problem.
Is there a check valve between the wellhead and the pressure tank? If so, then that is the first place I would look. From your description, air is getting into the water from somewhere. If the checkvalve is leaking, then that could be the source of your problem.
