I have a GE 40 gallon tall water heater, I was watering my garden when I lost water pressure for about 30 seconds then it came back on, after this the water heater started leaking out the bottom, it is 11 years old, it started dripping out the bottom about 60 drips a minute then went down to about 30 per minute then it stopped dripping all together. Question is can I fix it or do I need to buy a new one? Thanks, Ron

One quick question... why were you watering your garden with hot water? Ok two questions... where exactly is it leaking from?

LOL! I wasn't, I thought the water heater had something to do with the pressure loss

I can't see where it's leaking from, the drips where running down one of the legs it stands on

My opinion... most hot water warranties are less than 10 years... some closer to 5 years. I'd look at getting a new one ASAP... some sediment may have shifted and blocked the pinhole temporarily. Next time you might not be so lucky.

Guess I'll get a new one! Thanks so much for your time!

You are welcome... taking a chance of a basement flood to delay an expense you know you need is a false economy from my perspective.
