First off - thanks for reading this and trying to help. Now with that, I'm off:
First, I'm sure I found it on YouTube originally in the related sidebar off some Iron Maiden - "The Trooper" video or another. I'm FAIRLY certain the video was supposed to be the infamous Charge of the Light Brigade. The video starts with a messenger running across a battle-field, only to die just as/after hands a message to a battlefield commander. The rest of the video is a blur - I think it was just a bunch of action; although I recall the end of the video involving the commander (I think it was the lead singer playing the part) being shot by firing squad.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you who the artist was, or the name of the song. It was a rock song, pretty sure. An example of what I consider "Rock" being quite a few Nickelback songs, while Iron Maiden would be a better example of Metal.
Thanks for any help I can get on this - and even if you can't, thanks for trying.
