I had sole custody of my 15 year old daughter her whole life. I was paid $75 a month from mother for ten years. Now she has filed to change custody and she got it! Moving my daughter out of where she has been all her life and go somewhere she did not want to go. I now have to pay $479 a month to her. There was abuse, no drugs (in fact I'm 2nd in command at a police department) nothing bad at all. It was all based on her poor grades in high school, but she passing every year. It took her way from her only sibling and slit us all up. Now she trying to hold me in contempt for not paying child support and I have it comes out of my paycheck. Now she requested another hearing to hold me in contempt and is asking for 13,000 that was dissolved in my bankruptcy 8 years a go. Why is she being allowed to do this?

First ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Do you have an attorney? At 15 her preference should have been given significant weight. But a sudden drop in grades certainly would give a judge reason to order a change in scenery.

As to her claims. She is allowed to bring any action she wants. If you can prove the $13K was discharged, then she won't get it. If you can prove that you are up to date on support then that will be dismissed. If the judge can be shown that her bringing you to court is frivolous and punitive, it make work against her.
