I have two outlets on the front porch and two on the back, as well as an outlet in two bathrooms that are not working. I have searched the entire house and I cannot find the reset receptacle. When the original owners finished the basement they added a kitchenette and moved two outlets. So there are two holes with wires sticking out but no outlets. I'm afraid that one of these may be the GFCI receptacle wired to my bathrooms and exterior outlets. Is there a way to reset the GFCI without a reset receptacle?

There is no "reset " receptacle ". Each one had a reset button. Make sure the breaker for those circuits id not tripped.

I had a very similar experience and after about 4 days of tracing wires all over the basement, I found a GFCI outlet above the suspended ceiling, which of course was the one that was tripped and stopping the outside receptacles from working. The previous owner simply left it where it had been originally installed, probably on a exposed joist, and then proceeded to hide it when he put the suspended ceiling in place.
