OK in the first grade my mom held me back and in 8th grade I failed

What did you fail? Are you going to summer school this summer or using the services of a tutor?

There's not much you can do. You could take summer school courses like WG suggested, or correspondence courses, but if you fail those as well then you're stuck where they've put you.

If you failed then you're not ready to go to the next grade level. You'll likely struggle because the material you learn next year will be based on the material you failed last year.

Is there a reason that you're doing poorly in school? Have you been tested for ADHD, dyslexia, or any other learning disabilities?
