Can a 2 year old child develop bleeding in the brain, 3 weeks after receiving a concussion from a fall?

Yes - it is possible. What makes you ask this? If you have any concerns - don't wait - take the child to the doctor or ER.

What kind of symptoms would she have had? I am asking because my niece passed away, and we haven't gotten an autopsy report yet

We could guess all night, wait for the autopsy, but yes it is possible, or possible there was injury from the trama not found at first and it continued.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers go out to you and your family. Head injury and symptoms from a brain bleed can vary depending on the part of the brain affected. And sadly, ultrasounds may sometimes miss injuries to the brain.

Fr Chuck is right though - it will do no good to speculate the cause of death - the best thing you can do is to wait for the autopsy. It could have been something completely unrelated to the fall.

Although - I do know first hand what a long and frustrating wait it can be for the reports to come back. And I know you are grasping for any kind of information or answers that you can find to help cope with this tragedy.

A general list of symptoms you might see with a brain bleed would be: headache, weakness in arm/leg, nausea/vomiting, loss of balance/coordination, change in vision, decreased alertness, confusion, seizures or tremors, change in speech/thought process, tingling or numbness.

Like I said - that is just a general list. And the cause could have been from something totally unrelated.

I pray that you and your family find answers and some peace during this very difficult time.
