I was trying to get my car to stop shuttering when I stop. Is that my abs sensor going out? I checked my pads and my rotors and they are fine. I drive a 2004 impala ss.

1. Check for any ABS codes being thrown.
2. Remove and clean ABS sensors with a spritzled rag. Don't use compressed air.
3. Check brake fluid level. I recommend changing brake fluid every 2 years with Valvoline SynPower Brake Fluid, which is ABS approved. The last thing you want is corrosion to develop in the ABS. Repairs can cost $1,500 to $2,000.

This year /type vehicle has a bad problem with rotor runout. Meaning they don't run true. They have high and low spots you can't see. I know 3 owners personally that have the same problem. You need to get the rotors machined to correct the issue.

Now that I understand what you meant, thanks to kitch428, I agree with kitch428's diagnosis. These problems often come about when disks are turned on a lathe. When the technician removes the disks and turns them on a lathe, he turns them to the lathe's axis, not the spindle axis on your car. This results in Lateral Runout (LRO). Instead, use a ProCut machine, which is the preferred OEM process, to true up your disks and use quality OEM pads.
