I've been with this girl for 18 months and I love her to pieces, we live together and I couldn't imagine life without her. But I told her a lie back at the start. Basically, my family and my gran from my mums side had a huge fallout when I was a lot younger which resulted in me not talking to my gran from then on. She was pretty much dead to me but I told my girlfriend that she was dead, and I hate myself for doing it and wish I could take it back but I can't. I've not spoken to this gran for years but recently she's wanted to get back in touch since she hasn't got long left. I want to confess everything to my girlfriend but I have no idea how. I never ever wanted to hurt her But I'm terrified she will leave me if she finds out. What should I do?

Just her down and tell her exactly what you have just told us, she should be able to understand.

This is a small lie. You should tell her about it and if she truly cares about you, she won't use that as an excuse to break up with you and she would understand.
