My husband has been using lozenges to aid in quitting smoking for a few months now. He places the lozenges between his inner lip and gum. He noticed today that there was a small hole in his gum where he places the lozenge, and says that it seems as if his gumline is receding. Could it be because of the lozenge?

I am having trouble finding information on this, but I also appear to have a receding gum over my right canine. The only thing I can think of is also lozenges which I was taking for around a month, and placing them around that area.

If you find any more information on this I'd appreciate if you could share it, thanks.

Soreness in the gums is a know side effect but not receding. He should try placing the tablet on the other side but he should also visit his dentist.
