I am pregnant but want to leave my fiancé. I am convinced he is not the one for me nor the type of man I want to raise a child with. I can deal with visitation but living under the same roof is daunting. The catch is I want to move out of state, from MA to NC. Can he stop me? Or get a court order to bring me back once the baby is born?

Normally, no. Jurisdiction will be in North Carolina. It is possible that he could sue you in N.C. for custody or visitation, but unlikely that the N.C. court would require you to return to Massachusetts.
The other thing is that Massachusetts is, the last time I checked, the only state which has not adopted the UCCJEA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniform_Child_Custody_Jurisdiction_And_Enforcement _Act). It's remotely possible then that the MA courts might attempt to exercise jurisdiction.

Thanks for your response. Quick follow-up question, so if Mass does not pass the bill to adopt UCCJEA, what is the worst case scenario?
