My name is Crystal chavis, I have a 9 yr old daughter. Her father took her an left when she was 3 yr. Left the county . I did see her again until 3 yrs later. Durning that time I was already paying childsupport. Its been three yrs again, an I jt ran into her an his mom unexpectedly. I didn't know what to say. She really sure who I was. Bt after I started to talk to her. She knew I was her mom. But I have childsupport in the morning. I'm behind, haven't been paying it like I should because I don't get to see her. But I don't understand y I can't get vistition..

Child support and visitation are not connected, you have to pay child support because there is a child support order in place.

How many times have you filed in court to get a court order for visits with the child. If you have one, are they refusing to obey it, if so, have you taken them back to court .

You don't visit because you either don't have a order for it, or you don't fight to get it inforced.

Visitation and child support are treated separately. You don't need to be paying support or be up to date to get visitation. But to get visitation you have to get a court to order it.

So the father left. When he left were you still married, still together? Or had you already been divorced? Were there any court orders when he left? When was the support order filed? Did you ask for visitation at that time? What have you done to get visitation?
