What could go wrong? Some of those occupiers might have found their AKs by then.Hello Steve:
If YOU were going to Tampa to pursue your Constitutional rights, and you KNOW how much the right wing HATES you, and you KNOW they'll be ARMED, wouldn't you go with your weapons??
I know you asked tongue in cheek, but I think Tampa could be a war zone.
Let me ask you this. Let's say YOU were a delegate. Let's say you KNOW the streets of Tampa aren't going to be friendly to a person such as yourself. Knowing that, you'd TAKE your gun, wouldn't you?

Why yes, I would defend myself. That's the difference between right-wing zealot gun owners and anarchists, we use them for defense and they use them for evil. You should be thanking us.

Lots of things COULD happen, like some 280 lb occupier might smack a 100 lb lady cop over the head with a drum (http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/05/03/Drum-Scum-Arrested), defecate on a cop car, vandalize everything (http://michellemalkin.com/2011/11/03/more-ugly-occupy-oakland-pictures-that-wont-make-msm-front-pages/) and some old Republican ladies might wave a flag.
P.S. If you aren't getting this the point is you libs keep fear mongering about the wrong crowd. Leave to to some Democrat mayor to try and suppress the people's rights because "some people who are coming here with intent on causing mayhem." Those "some people" are not the peace loving Republicans coming to the convention, so leave them be.

From what I understand about the situation. It was about those that have carry permits. Since they are already approved by the state of Florida to carry. It shouldn't be a problem.
Here is the carry permit law for that state.

Again, I thought we had called a truce. My words on the Zimmerman affair are easy to find, what you said wasn't it. So please feel free to show me some meaningful stats on evil permit owners and their troublemaking ways.
I mean you're the guy who for years now warned about giving up some of our rights for a little protection, now you're telling us to give up our rights for a little protection.
Actually, I just think you're ticked that I'm killin' you guys in baseball again. My pitchers are even gaining on the lead.

Again, I thought we had called a truce. Hello again, Steve:
A truce works BOTH ways. That means you can't call the other guys "evil" and complain to me when I say something about your guys. I understand that you DON'T understand that. Therefore the truce, that you didn't adhere to anyway, is OFF.
By the way, you'll have show me where I called for anybody to be disarmed. I didn't. I'm just the canary in the coal mine. Having armed angry right wingers mix with unarmed (maybe) angry OWS'ers is a recipe for disaster...
I don't know... I'm not bright, but I can SEE the future. You? Not so much.

What? Where? When? I sarcastically called our guys "evil" and said of "anarchists" and guns, "they use them for evil." I must have missed where I have recently called anyone evil in reality.
By the way, you'll have show me where I called for anybody to be disarmed.
I thought you were an advocate of putting words in other people's mouths.

I do see how angry, arrogant occupiers stirring up violence in the presence of permit owners could be a mistake. Never doubted that for a second. So put the resources where they should be and keep those occupiers under control and all will be fine.
But you really need to get over this notion that right-wingers are out to kill. I just want to be happy, dude. And not have to pay for Julia's entire life of government care. That is of course is Julia ever gets born because no one is around in this regime to protect her right to life.

But you really need to get over this notion that right-wingers are out to kill. I just wanna be happy, dude.Hello again, Steve:
The cool thing about canary's in the coal mine, is that they can discern DANGER when NOBODY else can.
I don't believe that your ordinary armed right winger WANTS to kill. I don't believe George Zimmerman set out to kill that night. But, what I DO know, is that right wingers HATE OWS'ers. I don't mean they oppose them. I mean they HATE them with a vengeance.. I think you MAY be among that group.
So, as a canary, let me see if I can envision a LIKELY scenario. OWS is going to descend on Tampa like flies on dead meat. There's Going to be trouble in the streets.
So, let's say there's a couple of ARMED delegates trying to wend there way back to the hotel after having a couple pops. They see somebody sh*ting on a cop car, and for good measure the guy picks up a pile and hits the ARMED and tipsy delegates IN THE FACE...
Now, the responsible gun owner YOU describe would walk away. Maybe, most would. But, with STAND your GROUND in their back pockets, and a 9 mm in their front, I think there's going to be some DEAD people on the street.
You? Not so much.

LOL, you make a lousy canary. Oh, and it would be responsible to walk away, most would. So let's go from canaries and canards to the real problem, the guy sh*tting on the cop car and throwing feces in someone else's face. The assailant is the problem, not the victim, but that's libs bass-ackward thinking for you, always running around with solutions looking for a problem instead of dealing with reality.

Now, I'm not sure what a straw man is, but I think you used one. Look here. This is SIMPLE. I don't think ANYBODY should be throwing sh*t around. But, I don't think somebody should be KILLED for doing it.
Talk about bass-ackwards! Zimmerman played the victim card too.

No? Ok. We can leave Zimmerman out of it.
THIS is about guns, Florida, incompetent cops and Stand Your Ground.
And, SPECIFICALLY it's about WHO'S actually a victim. You call a guy who gets hit in the face with a pile of sh*t, a victim - at LEAST to the point where he's JUSTIFIED in shooting somebody over it... Personally, I'd pick the guy who got shot as the victim..

Yes, throwing feces in someone's face is assault. That would make the one assaulted the victim, fact. That the assailant will be killed by some right-wing gun totin' zealot standing his ground, well that's just fiction.

How about a revoultion, a convention with no guns, check your weapon at the door
Guns will already be banned (ttp://www.politico.com/news/stories/0512/75850.html#ixzz1uBwWJNLf [/QUOTE]) in and around the convention, so the left is just finding more ways to be "up in arms" for no good reason.
In a response dated the same day, Scott suggests that Tampa is overreaching in its request. Already, he says, the Secret Service will ban firearms inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum itself as well as in a security perimeter immediately around the convention campus.
“You are now requesting that citizens be disarmed in all of downtown Tampa, including in areas across the river, and distant, from the convention center and Secret Service safe zone,” Scott wrote.

It ain't the INSIDE of the convention or even the few blocks around it that's going to be the problem.. OWS'ers aren't going to be allowed inside or anywhere NEAR it, anyway. But, it's a BIG city, and the conventioneers will be staying in hotels ALL over.
Look. I HOPE I'm wrong. I don't want trouble.. But, I can see it coming.

I'd be more concerned about the Democrat Charlotte convention. Actually ,come to think about it.. my biggest concern right now would be Chi-town hosting NATO We already know that gun play is a city pastime .Maybe they should suspend conceal and carry laws there .
Oh wait.. there is already a law in Illinois banning conceal and carry. Good thing it makes the city such a safe place to be.

Isn't that something? Obama's terrorist friend taking on Rahmbo's city and NATO, and I'm assuming Obama will be there to represent us. But don't you worry about concealed carry, Rahm is packing a much bigger weapon (http://www.myfoxdc.com/dpps/news/local/military-blackhawks-circle-downtown-skies-honing-urban-battle-skills-chicago-20120416_19209437) to deal with those angry occupiers and company.

So ban guns what could go wrong?
May be they will ban Muslims too hay some think Islam is responsible for terror attacks and a war we are fighting.
Ban gays while you are at it didn't they bring HIV to the human population?
Then ban women according to the biblical creation story they brought sin and mankind's fall from grace.
Your's or mine ignorance, fear and intolerance should not be tolerated as the basus of governance in our society.
OK here is where many would speak of the constitution, I would just like to remind you that once something is banned or someone is excluded it is easier for the society to an other things and the next freedom they take or groupe the enslave could effect you or be you.
