I bought a house a couple of years ago. I also sold a house and the mortgage was contingent on my having a specific amount of money from the sale of the house in order to go through. My sister was the realtor, and her friend owned the realty firm. What happened is the lawyer fudged the paperwork and made it seem that I did not have to pay a realtor fee to them so that I would have enough to cover everything. Also, I got a no doc interest only loan from her broker friend even though I did not earn enough money to afford this house. I ultimately almost got foreclosed on, all my credit cards were charged off and my credit sucks. I have NO money, lost the 50,000 I put down on the house, and all in all, am not too happy. Did they do something illegal that day? Can I sue them, or would I set myself up to go to jail for this?

I think the courts would see you as a co-conspirator.
