HI Everyone, I am new here. I am a 49 yr old female. Long story short I had work injury where a 6ft long metal pole that I was working on hit my right sholder and gave me 10 stiches. They sent me to physical therephy after 12 rounds of that it did increase my range of motion however with exstreem pain. After a CT and 2 MRI this is what I have. Degenerative disc discasc with spondylosis and facct arthropathy at all cervical levels. A collapse and spondylosis at four levels of the C-3 to C-7 cervical regions. Protrusions approximate and the anterior cord at the C-5 to C-6, with potential impingement of the right fifth and sixth cervical roots. I can not lift my right arm but only half way, the pain is amazing, like lighting going all the way down my arm. No lower back pain, just sever neck pain the goes into my right sholder where I got hit, and sometimes numbness depending on how I move that day. I need narcotic pain meds just to make it through the day or I can not move. I am so sick of pills right now. I have been begging for a nerve block for weeks and they still will not give me one. This is work comp for you. Does any one here know in lamens terms please how can I get pain releaf and how does this get treated? So far the surgeion has not told me anything other than come back in couple of weeks. Are there any more test they can do? Anything info will help at this time. I do not understand what I have. All I know is I never had a problem before, then one day I get knocked up-side the sholder and now I have problems. Thanks all for listening to my story. I just do not understand what I have exactly. So can some one tell me what this is in lamens terms please. And can work injury bring this on. Because I never had a problem before now I have pain all the time. I just do not get it.

This is going to sound insensitive but if Physicians can't give you any relief no one here is going to be able to help. You can try heat, cold packs, whatever helps in the short term but in the long run you need medical intervention.

Do you have an Attorney handling your claim? An Attorney can make the WC Board snap to attention.

I'd make another appointment with the surgeon and DEMAND to know more info. He/she works for you, not the other way around.
