I was stopped waiting for the green arrow to make a left turn.

It turned green and I began my turn when I was hit on the passenger side broad side.

When the police came they did not check on me to see if I was OK. A bystander came over and asked me if I was OK.

I called my husband and son and the police would not let them approach the car to see me.

Me and the other person both are insured by State Farm Ins. With different agents. I was told that I could not claim because of that. They gave me a ticket and in the report stated that we both were doing 40 mph and that I turned on a yellow light. Therefore the ticket. I have to go to court to pay the $140.00 ticket. I have to pay the ticket by 1 May, 2012. Do I still have legal claims after I pay it??

I have tried to get legal help and they tell me that because I got the ticket they cannot help me.

I am of spanish nationality and here in the US with papers. He was a black person. I feel this was a racial issue that needs to be investigated but I need help in finding someone to help me.

This happened in GA, Gwinnett County, Lilburn, literate, 50, speak some english.

Wronged I was just trying to be brief to get an answer.

A ticket does not mean guilt, it means the police officer believes that is how it happened.
In court you plead not guilty and prove your case. Or you plead nolo and the ticket can not be used in a civil case against you.

The issue here is you gave no details about the accident. If you had a green arrow, then you should have been in the right, if it was just a green light ( other side also has green light) you had to yield. So without details of the accident we can not tell you about the real fault.

But normally you will just let your insurance handle it as to who they feel is at fault.

Call your State Farm agent and report this accident. Let the company hash out the details of repair. Meanwhile, go to court and follow Fr_Chuck's instructions. Even when you turn on a green light, you have to give way to traffic going straight from the opposite direction on that same green.
