I replaced the alternator and the battery and the batt still won't hold a charge at idle. I let it idle for 20 minutes and the voltage dropped to 9.6. All the fuses are good and as far as ican tell through thorough inspection all connections seem fine as well as all the wiring. Is it possible that the edl was fried somehow because that's what the stealership is saying and I think they're wrong. Wouldn't at least some fuse or relay pop if the edl was bad?

. Check for codes.

. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter.

. Clean alternator cables of any corrosion. Do the same thing for battery cables.

. Remove and fully charge the battery. Verify that regulated battery voltage is 14 to 15 volts, when the engine is idling. If not, the voltage regulator is likely bad.

If the problems persists, Honda may be right and the ELD detector may be bad.

Thanks boss. I've done everything you talked about before replacing the components I mentioned. The only thing posible is Honda is right. Unless the v regulator on the new alt is bad. Thanks for your inpput man
