My fiancé is a doctor. His secretary or front desk female employee ask my fiancé to help direct or give guidance or direction in the gym by meeting with her younger brother to help him out at the gym.. I feel that it is inappropriate for her to ask her boss to help her brother out at the gym.. this is her boss, not a fitness coach for her brother. I feel like to went over the line by asking a personal favor for her brother outside of work.. my fiancée offered to help her brother when she asked him.. I feel like anything to do with personal issues is very inappropriate outside of the realm of work related issues.. aside from the fact that within my work experience of over twenty years in human resource management which involved hiring, terminations, trouble shooting, consulting, etc.. this type of behavior (personal) would not be tolerated by any other employer. My feeling is that this could lead to a more "personal" relationship with his female employee.. because then they would have personal things in common that is not work related-which could very well lead to a disaster.. I am engaged to marry this man.. im second quessing.. his judgement first of all as a professional and a leader and boss.. im just not comfortable with this behavior, and so many of my past clients would terminate the boss for his judgement.
