The power vent on the furnace is over heating is there some way to test the motor or check it out?

Do an amp draw on the motor. The amp draw rating will be listed somewhere on the motor housing. If it is drawing high amps, you need either a new capacitor (if your draft inducer motor on your unit has one) or a new motor. However, do know that many times the draft motor will be quite warm, even hot during normal operation. So if your testing proves all is okay, and the motor sounds fine, you are probably okay. If it getting so hot you can't touch it, or it is actually shutting down from overheating, you most likely need a new motor (or, as I said, a capacitor). Some draft inducers have caps, some don't. Look at your wiring diagram, or follow the wires to see if yours has one.
