I have a 2005 Kenmore Refrigerator. Despite stories that the water filter is under the front grill does not apply for my model.
I must install an inline water filter. In back of the bottom of the refrigerator
The copper water supply line goes into the pump, from there is goes up a plastic
Tubing into the back of the ice maker (see picture) Where would you install
The water filter

Pump? Water supply and ice makers rely on house pressure. A typical install includes a water supply line from the house side, a filter adapter kit that will go from the house supply to the refrigerator water supply with quick disconnects. Your picture did not post.

Yes the ice maker is already install, and works fine. But the water in the ice cubes taste
Terrible. I would like to install a filter somewhere. But where.

Hi Pastor1189
You would install the ice maker filter anywhere in the water line BEFORE it reaches the refrigerator (see image). Here, you would not install the filter after the "pump" (this is actually a solenoid valve... basically an on/off electric switch that lets water flow)... usually you install the filter just after the shutoff at the water line in the basement (if you have a basement) or, you can install it behind the 'fridge, too if there is room there.
Finally, be sure to purchase a few extra filters now as these ice maker filters need to be swapped out every 3-6 months, OK?
Good luck!
