Do you already have it installed on your machine ?
If so you need to completely remove it first.

In that case time to get another scanner.
Give Malwarebytes.
It's free and available here: Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer (http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free)

Running now, has not found anything in the 20 minutes that it has been running. Suggestions for a "free" virus protection. Wanted to use the Microsoft product, but still getting the E:\ drive error.

Thanks.
When I ran the Malewarebytes program it did not find anything, however, I was then able to load the Microsoft Security Essentials. Should I delete the Malwarebytes program, or is it okay to have it and Essentials running?
Not sure why the drive E:\ error message went away, but it did.
Thanks for your assistance.

They do different jobs.
It's fine to have both installed, but only run one at a time..
