Recently our female cat had a litter of four kittens, they are two weeks and two days old when this happened. My male cat the father of these beauties went to the vet and was neutered and all four declaws removed because leather furniture coming he is three yrs. Old and I just would never part with him. Indeed I figured I would stop breeding siamese. She had a litter in feb. 2004 June of 2004 and Nov. 15th just recently. His neuter took place Nov. 23rd. The Vet said he had two to three weeks of good sperm left, I thought if she gets pregnant it would be a miracle to say the least. After all horndog would be just TOO SORE to do anything anyway! Boy was I wrong. Eight days since his neuter and when the babies were only 16 days old/ mother cat came in heat, the week my male cat got fixed she was very upset with him and for three to four days she was aggressive toward him hissing and clawwing and growling, so I kept them separated, I figured it was the SMELL of the vet hospital that upset her, and maybe she wondered what happened to her lover. Anyway While on the phone with my sister the cats were under the chair finallt getting along, they were vocal with one another, I never thought anything of it since she missed him, they are siamese and are vocal animals to each other anyway. All of a sudden she started growling and went under the table and licked herself right there! I knew what had happened, he got her. So I separated them again and put her in the crate with her new kittens. Finally later in the day once again it happened, and two times after, now she shows no more signs of BEING IN HEAT.. This happened December 1st.. with new kittens now being 18 days old what can I expect? Will she continue to produce milk for them? Is it harmful to her or the unborn? Can she NOT BE PG.
HELP.. should I be figuring duration gestation from the 1st or 2nd of December? Would anything be wrong with his sperm? He had a tranquilizer and pain killer shot the night of surgery..

Hello,

It is possible that she could be pregnant but it is NOT harmful to her or her current litter at all. We see this all the time and it is not unusual. Cats can and will go into heat about 2 weeks after giving birth.

His sperm should not be affected by the surgery and/or anesthesia, etc.

You can certainly tell if she is pregnant at about 30 days if you have an ultrasound done (maybe sooner).

Either way, don't worry about it. Everything should be fine... :)

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your time, and time is an essence on my part!! I bought two bottles and some kitten formula from walmart just in case she slacks off on feedings. She seems to be doing fine with them and the kittens are happy and playful at three weeks and seem to be gaining weight accordingly. She hasn't been aggressive and shows no more signs of heat, matter of fact my male doesn't seem interested in her at all! He new declaw is healed well, although he has the old habit of wanting to sharpen his nails, he's back to jumping up on the back of my wing chair, so I'm happy thanks Michelle!
