What is the name of this 70's or 80's movie about a plain girl who falls overboard while they are making movie or is left behind and follows the actors and gets lost in sea and wakes up in a island where all the things from the movie are truly happening? I think it has pirates in it. I saw it when I was a little kid and I don't remember much.

I can think of other stories-come-to-life, such as "Magic Island", but they don't match your description at all. They generally star males, not females, in the lead.
