Got a call from RCMP officer to meet her at their station. They say they have a lot of questions to ask me regarding some past associations or connections. Somehow I think I must have cross path/got associated again un-expectantly in the past few years through my work. Casually mentioned some details and some names to me over the phone and that is all. Never tell me what it was for? Can I not go for meeting since if they think that I suspected of doing something wrong, why don't they just come and arrest me or?

Here in the US you can refuse to speak to a cop. I don't know about your country.

They probably haven't got enough grounds to arrest you, but why not keep the status quo and go help them out. By not going it will only raise their suspicions against you.

I'm fairly cetain it's the same in Canada.

Perhaps they could, but they don't want to bother.

You should consult with an attorney before you do anything else.

RCMP are different then just cops. They are the US eqivalent of the FBI. So this would not be any ordinary request.

Right, if the RCMP got called in, there's a reason.

PengT, assume you are posting from BC? You don't say exactly what they want you for, but assuming something international, seeing as you are probably Asian and in BC. You say, through your work.

If you want qualified answers, then need more information, but if it is what I am thinking, then you had better come clean with RCMP.
