I went for my maternal fetal ultrasound today and the dr told me that they detected some blood in my uterus. They wouldn't tell me much more then he didn't think it would cause a miscarriage. He thought it was left over from when I was spotting but I never spotted?! I am confused and worried. Does this sound normal or like something I should be worried about. Am I going to lose my baby? I have no bleeding, just mild cramping I believe to be from the baby and my uterus growing. Please help.

I can't answer this question for you. I wish I could.
We have two very wonderful pregnancy experts on this site. J_9 (she's a labor and delivery nurse) and DoulaC (she's a Doula).
Please check your question often. They both work way too hard and can't always be on the site to answer these question. So please, check back. I'm sure they'll be along when they can, and give you some good advice.
Until then, I can only tell you not to worry too much. Worrying won't help. Whatever is, already is. If the doctor told you not to be concerned, then don't be. Sit back, relax, have some water, make sure you're taking care of yourself. What you do for you, will help baby. So put this out of your mind for now. Don't stress about it. Okay?
I wish you the best of luck. I'll expect an update when baby is born. :)

Hi Themandericos,
Detecting some blood on the ultrasound is not uncommon as some women will have some bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy. This can sometimes be seen with spotting or light bleeding, but not always. One of the more common reasons for the blood being present is from the development of the placenta and/or mucus plug.
Some women will have what is known as a subchorionic hematoma, which in some situations can present a problem, but since your doctor is not concerned, or expressed a need to keep an eye on it, you can be reassured that things are fine.
Most often any blood present will be reabsorbed and be of no further consequence.
Wishing you a smooth and easy pregnancy!
