I gave birth to my baby 7 weeks ago. My bleeding died right down to the point where there wasn't much blood at all. When there wasn't much at all I have been passing tiny clots and some bigger. 1 was about a 5th of my palm. A 9 days ago I started bleeding again. At first I thought this is my period starting but now its been 9 days. The clots are now tiny, tiny but am still bleeding. I am not on any medication or pill either. I had a c-section with my first child and my bleeding didn't last this long. I had a forceps delivery this time round. I am sure how they are born doesn't effect bleeding though. Unless I am wrong. I am just wondering if this is normal?

Hi bumble_bee,

Yes, it can be normal to still have some bleeding. It is usually not a concern as long as it is not heavy bleeding. Did you have your postpartum check-up yet? Are you breastfeeding?
You are correct, the avenue of birth would not make a difference in the bleeding.

If it continues, or become heavy, you can always give your doctor a call.

I went to the doctors 2 days after posting this and turned out I had retained placenta. I was pretty sure something was up so I'm glad I went to doctors. I became quite ill. I had no energy and fall asleep given the chance, felt dizzy and weak. All from the amount of blood lost.
Thanks for your comment anyway :)

Being ill, lethargic, feeling dizzy and weak, would definitely be red flags. Glad you went to the doctors. Hope you are feeling better!

Yeah definitely! Yeah I'm feeling better in the sense of not bleeding hardly now. Still getting my energy back up but I'll be back to 100% soon.
