So, your period is telling you that you're ready to have a child. Then, why do I hear that getting pregnant at 14 is wrong? If you have your period, then you should be able to.

Just because we are capable of doing things does not mean we should. A 14 year old's body is not yet ready to go through child birth. It can cause severe medical problems. At 14 the body is still growing. Take a look back in history when women married and had children at an extremely young age, do you know what the fatality rate was for both mother and child? Very high.

I should add, that at 14 you have no way to provide for a child, seeing as labor laws limit when and where you can work, you won't have a highscool degree, you can't rent or buy a house, and are unable to drive. At 14, you can't even vote.

No. Think of It this way... I was born with two hands which makes me capable of picking up a weapon and killing someone... but should I?

In past times, when young teen girls had babies, they were married to men in their 30s and 40s who worked as miners or camel drivers or carpenters or farmers. The teen wives were allowed to leave the house only to go to the village well to get water (that was their social life, chatting with other women at the well) or to the creek down the hill to pound out the clothes to wash them. Otherwise, these young teen mothers stayed in their houses and had as many as 13 children (one per year--no birth control--a man was considered rich if he had lots of kids), then died in their thirties in the bedroom (no good medicine or hospitals). Then the widower would remarry another teen girl and produce more children. Women were baby machines.

We've come a long way since then!

I know young girls get preganat in our centrey now but it doesn't make it right its just a kid having a kid and you wouldn't have money or your own house you would benefit from people around you

Just because the body is ready, doesn't mean the mind is.
