Whenever you date or meet a new guy it always seems that the girl is the one to text first. Even if days or weeks go by. Are guys that afraid of rejection to not make the first move? Or do they have too much pride?

I guess it's both. It's much more painful for a guy to feel rejection from a girl. But that's what makes us a man.
Give the guy a hint that you are also interested in him:)

You can't lump all men into one category. For that matter you can't lump all women into one category.

Maybe the "new guy" isn't that interested so he doesn't make contact.

Maybe it's not about the first move - maybe it's about not wanting to continue the relationship.

And no one likes rejection - not men, not women. I don't think it's "worse" for men than it is for women.

Does that mean people don't put themselves out there, make the first contact? No, I don't think so.

Rejection is bad for both parties of course but it might be he's getting the wrong impression from you too... the wrong signals. When we meet people and we hit it off and click that first time we still walk away thinking... Did they like me? So maybe our own insecurities keep us from calling/texting back and we both waiting. I mean we, girls/guys, talk and try to impress to get another date but all we do is dependent on whether we are liked enough. Even though at the end of the date we might say "i had fun and would like to see you again call me" there still room for doubt.
