Let me polish my crystal ball ;)

Seriously, we have no way of knowing how backlogged the lab is, what the normal processing time is, or what you were promised.

You can ask the lab, or ask the judge to check and postpone the hearing until the test comes back. Or maybe your attorney can find out.

If the hearing is scheduled for the day after tomorrow, and you have not recevied the results yet, the hearing will have to be rescheduled. Either that, or your attorney got the results and forgot to tell you.

If you don't know who your attorney is you probably don't have one. In Family Court attorneys are not assigned.

If you want out help, it would be better is you gave us details about this case. What is the hearing about? Obviously it has something to do with custody and paternity since you are referring to a DNA test, but what about it. And where are you?

Im going to court for child support and I live,in NC and so since he is not on the birth certificate he is required to take a dna test before he can be required to pay child support

OK, this makes more sense

This site has a lot of info about DNA testing in NC courts, but it doesn't indicate a time frame. So you need to check with the clerk of the court where your case is being heard.

Did you file for CS on your own, or did you go through a child support agency? If it's the latter, contact the agency to find out the status of the test.

You say he is required to take a DNA test. Who took the sample from your child? Check with that person, agency, or company to find out the status of the test. It is possible that the child's putative father hasn't even submitted a sample yet.

As I say, if the results are not in yet, I am betting the hearing will be postponed. Keep us posted.

The issue is back log of the testing facility, there are normally several labs approved. It can take anywhere from a week to 4 or 5 weeks, depending on backlog.
