I can't get the remote to work the lighting, the fan works fine.

I can't get the lightning portion working on my Hampton Bay remote control, the fan works great.

The control box receiver for the fan and light has a relay inside that controls the light, must be defective.

Hampton Bay has a lifetime warranty through Home Depot.
