I have 3 children and was ordered to pay 900/month which equals out to 300 per child from a divorce order.. my oldest child turned 21... and I am currently still paying child support on all three... my middle child is now with meand I have since obtained legal insurance through my job... Previously I was told by an attorney it would cost 3.600.00 to modify this order for 900.00 (of which I had no way of paying him and the 900.00) so I wasn't able to modify until now... My insurance covers all the legal fees except the filing of the new order... My middle daughter now with me since 11/2011.. and I now have a date for next month April 2012.. YES it took that long. What is Georgia law on recoupment or recovery of past over payment of child support?

It appears to go back to the date you filed for the reduction.

I don't understand why you needed an Attorney when your child moved in with you. That's changed circumstances and the Court "usually" entertains those cases based on the proof, very little testimony.
