This movie takes place sometime between 1970s through early 90s and possibly in upscale New York if not England. Young man goes to big house own by much older single woman. He might have been a student or young writer and the woman might have been a writer too.
Both are on the witty side. The one other person I remember in the movie is the young housekeeper who seems naïve and innocent at first.
Later into the movie the young man and the housekeeper are in one of the bedrooms together
Obviously engaging in sex which the woman homeowner suspects and doesn't seem to approve of.
Near the end the housekeeper turns out to be a bit of a sly/sneaky, clever and slightly sinister in a way. Both ladies completely become totally cynical of the young man's visit and are after him either trying to trap him or having one of the neighbors watch for him or call the police. The man is meanwhile hiding in an upstairs bathroom where I believe he jumps out the window and gets away uncaught.
