Honda Accord V6 1999 will not start after driving a while and turning off ignition switch. Has to sit for 55-75 minute before it will start. Will crank but will not start. If start within 5-7 minutes after shutdown, will start, but not if wait longer. Then, have to wait 1 hour or more. Then, usually starts fine. Rarely, after 1 hour wait, it starts rough and weak and slow with rpm 400 and pressing accelerator causes rpms to decrease. If do nothing and wait 2-3 minutes, problem goes away and can drive fine. If sits and idles fro a while, will run rough or cut off and then have to wait the hour before starting. Two Honda dealers could not fix. Has new mail/fuel pump relay, new EGR because engine code says EGR and light remains on. When running, will run 80-90 easily, smoothly.

Replacing the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil should solve the problem. Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer grease to the back of the new ICM; otherwise, it won't last long.

ICMs often get damaged by a worn distributor cap and rotor, which causes the high secondary voltage to discharge back on the control module.
