Hello, I am a 16 year old girl and ill turn 17 in June. I had sex for the last time in Jan. 1st and 27th. After Jan 1st I had my period on the 18th. Everything was normal. Then on Jan 27 I had like a 5 min sex which was very short. And I always use condoms. I never had sex without condoms. And I'm proud of that.
In February I had my period again on the 13th. Everything was fine. Didn't have sex in February, and in march Eather. And I didn't get my period in march (now) this month. I'm late with 6 days. I'm going crazy. I'm so scared. Am I pregnant? I don't want to take a test for sure. And I don't want my mom to know it. This is my first time in my life that my period is late. If I would tell my mom, how can I tell her nicely that I'm not a virgin anymore. Omg she will be mad.:( please help me

Hi cicike... welcome to AMHD,

The only way you will know for sure would be to take a test. You could wait another week and see if your period is just late. Even if it has never happened before, it is not uncommon during the teen years to have irregular cycles now and then.

Most likely you are not pregnant since you had a period in February and didn't have sex.

It is wise that you use condoms, but if you are going to continue to engage in sex, which you may want to rethink since you now have seen how much worry an unplanned pregnancy could cause, it would be good to use an additional form of birth control as well.

No form of birth control is 100% effective, so anytime you have sex, you take a chance.

Consider the consequences... at your age, pregnancy can have more complications, you would not be physically, emotionally, or financially ready to have and raise a child, unfortunately, at this age, the odds of a boyfriend still being there long term are not high, and you would most certainly have to tell your mother.

Do you think I will get my period this month? What If I don't? Thank you!

There is no way to know if you will get your period or not. If you don't in the next couple of weeks, try a pregnancy test. You can get them inexpensively and test in the privacy of your own home. If you try a test, and it is negative (they are easy to use, but make sure that you follow the directions carefully), wait and see what happens in April.

If you do not get your period in about a week, you need to take a home pregnancy test. While it is great you were using condoms, but they are not 100 percent effective so it is still possible to get pregnant while using them. ( just a low chance)

There are other medical reasons for it, and if you don't get it, time to see your doctor.

I don't think I'm pregnant. God help me for not to be.its the 9th day I still didn't get my period. It would be weird and false to get pregnant now, because the sex happened 3 months ago.
