My water pump will never shut off, there is nothing leaking and no water running. It used just come one when the water was being used, now it doesn't shut off at all, what's wrong with it?

Hi Trisha and Welcome to The Plumbing Page. At AskMeHelpDesk.com. You're responding to a 2 year old dead thread so I gave you one of your own. Look in then upper left hand corner of the first post form the date before you post, Thanks,
Sounds like you've lost prime. How long has the pump been running dry? Try this, Shut the power off to the pump. On top of the housing you will see either a pressure gage or a small plug. Remove it and fill the housing full f water. If it runs out as fast as you can fill it stop and let me know. If it holds water then replace the gage or plug and turn the pump back on. Is it pumping now? Let me know, Tom
