The old gas pipe sticks out from the wall. The pipe comes out of the wall then has an elbow with a valve on it. That is where the flex hose was attached to the stove. We have an electric range that won't sit flush to the wall because the valve and elbow are outside the wall and in the way. Can I remove elbow and valve an cap off the pipe flush with the wall?
