My 2yr-old female american pit bull is having a discharge from her vulva. It was like a thick-clear mucus. I am worried if that is normal.
Please, need your help.
Thanks!

It it all the time? Or just sometimes? The vagina in dogs, just like in humans, does produce a lubricant to help keep bacteria out and everything clean inside. Is she spayed? Or intact? Intact females will probably have this happen after their heat cycle.

If there is an odor to it, any type of color to it or if her vulva is inflammed and irritated or if she is excessively licking her vulva, then you're going to need to take her to the vet for an exam. It could be an infection for the uterus, vagina or vulva or even a urinary infection.

I think this is normal as long as it isn't all the time as lucky said it produces it too keep bacteria away if there is an odor too it I would make anappointment at the vet.
