My water pressure is low and variable. My tank pressure sits at 32 psi and doesn't move much during cycle. It may go up to 33-34 psi. Any suggestions on the proble?

We'd like to see it more in the 45 psi range. Your switch should be adjustable. How to adjust your well pressure tank (http://www.mahoningvalleywater.com/pressure%20tank%20adj.htm)

Adjusting the small screw did nothing. Do I need a new switch?

Try the large screw before we think about replacing.

Large screw did nothing. The switch won't turn on, I have to do it manually. The pressure doesn't change. It still shuts off.

If both srews do nothing then switch replacement is your next step

Be sure to replace the little pipe leading to the switch at the same time you replace the switch. Those are bad to clog. Only costs a couple of bucks, and easy to do with the switch off. Put a new pressure gauge on as well. Again, just a few dollars, but that way you will know your pressure reading is correct.

One more thing. With the switch off, the tank will be drained. While it's drained, adjust the tank pressure from the air valve at the top of the tank. If you buy a 30/50 switch, then it will be set to turn the pump on at 30#. You will set your tank pressure at 2# below that figure, so it will be 28#.

You can do all those things in fifteen or twenty minutes, and you should then be set to go.
