sinkers

Throw a grenade down it!! That's how I feel with my kitchen sink. Another slab house as well built in 1973. Cast Iron Pipes in the slab. The person who had the house before me must have had a clog in the sink line leading to the septic, instead of clearing the line. He decided to dig a square hole outside and stick a 15 gallon plastic storage container with holes into it and run the kitchen sink line out to it. Now the cast iron pipe has sat for three years and I am not sure it can be un-clogged. In addition the box outside will fill up because the food particles clog the holes in the bottom and prevent drainage, add a little rain into the mix an viola... nasty sewer smell backed up through the sink. Add to that yours truly having to go outside with a bucket and a dip cup to dig the water and sewer mix out of the bucket in order for it to work again. I have thought about installing a smaller septic outside, however I am sure the cost may out weigh the value in this money pit. I feel your pain and if you have any suggestions I would be all ears!
