The supply line to our toilet keeps busting. We have fixed it three different times now and it keeps busting right before the shut off valve to the toilet. If anyone knows of a solution it is greatly appreciated.

Could you be more specific? By "busting do you mean the white plastic nut on the supply keeps blowing off the ballcock under the tank? Or is it something else? Are you using any thing on the threads? Can you tighten up the nut all the way to the limit? Back to you, Tom

What material is the pipe? Compession, sweat of threaded stop valve?

It's a steel pipe that leads to the shut off. It is breaking seals. I used thread tape on the threads and yes the nut tightened up to the limit.

I have had the same problem out of my hot water heater also. The compression nut on the fill side cracked on the hot water heater. I have only had to replace it once. The bathroom toilet supply line is a steel pipe that pipe that comes out of the floor into another steel pipe that goes to the shut off valve and has a steel pipe that comes off the top of that. Then the supply line comes off the that that leads to the fill tank on the toilet. I have used plumbers tape on every threaded part of the pipes. I am trying to figure out where the cheapest place to buy a regulator for the water pressure. Hopefully that fixes the problem. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

it keeps busting right before the shut off valve to the toilet. You still haven't told us exactly where the leak is. I'll put up a angle stop and you can show us. Bye the way. Teflon taping the threads on a compression fitting won't help. It's not the threads that contain water. Regards, Tom

Going by your diagram. On the copper pipe (water supply line) it keeps getting a small crack in it right before where the copper pipe connects to the shut off valve.

You mean the nut is creaking, if it is the nut may be you have over tighten and you need to replace the nut,Thanks.

No it is not the nut it is the pipe itself

If there is enough pipe you can cut the pipe and install a new compression nut, good luck.

Have you got enough stock coming out of the wall to cut back to good pipe? If not perhaps a solder on angle stop would work.
And what's with this?
I am trying to figure out where the cheapest place to buy a regulator for the water pressure. You're looking for a PRV (pressure relief valve)? Why? Do you have high pressure in your place? What's your house PSI? Back to you, n Tom

Can you post a picture of this problem?
