I can't read music and I'm trying to learn guitar. I can't afford lessons and I'm left handed, talk about all odds again you right?

You need to make a choice, either restring for a mirror image, chords can be easily duplicated.
I had a friend in Vegas years ago, only new him as "Hendrix", he took a right handed Strat and turned it upside down. He had too make up many chords, as they are VERY different if not restrung. He sounded great.
You might try Tablature to learn a couple of songs and to keep interested, Learn reading while doing this.
Good Luck
