What is the process if My ex boyfriend wants to give up financial rights to our child?

If he is the father of the child then he doesn't have a hope, unless you marry and the child is officailly adopted by your new husband.

Yes we get several dead beat dad stories here every day of some dad who does not want to live up to his legal obligation of paying child support.
If there was a way out of it, don't you think the 1000's of men sitting behind bar in jail right now for not paying would have done it??
He does not have to visit, he does not have to share custody, but he can't get out of paying child support esp if you keep after him and turn it over to child support enforcement if he does not.

Well actually its an odd situation. I asked my ex-boyfriend who is still my friend to go through invitro with me and to give me a child. This is the only way I can become pregnant. He knows how important it is for me to have a child so he is willing to do this as a favor but does not want financial obligation which is understandable. I want him to be able to feel secure finanically and not feel legally obligated financially. Its almost like having an anonymous donor.

I believe that perhaps there could have been a legal agreement done prior to the child that would have done this, This is a very newer area of the law, and with that said perhaps an attorney in family law will know more on this.
In your case it could work out that it could be held not responsible.

I believe it schoud be done all leagl buit a lot of people complain about the men not wanting to pay child support but women have all the rights the right to kep or not to keep adopt or not to adopt is seems like its all about money money money but if the men would get more of a fair shake in the courts maybe things would be different and let me ask the preist if it was a woman oweing support would you feel the same way and if so why don't you mention it schouldnt she be in jail to ?

Ghost I feel the same way about this issue. I have a neighbor who basically said if it were not for the money she would just let the father have the little girl. And the money is not even being used for the little girl it is being used for her needs (to go party). People don't considered the fact that there are men who want to take care of there children but the system doesn't make it easy for the men but it will hand things over to the women who are just after money and revenge.

Survivor, can I just say, that invetro seems a selfish move. I had a son out of wedlock and it was very hard for him the first five years when I had no husband. Sure, my dad stepped in and helped give my son a father figure, but I could tell there was great longing in my young son.
I know a lot of folks end up raising children as single parents, but that is not usually the plan. Please rethink this. It would be awfully cruel to just have a baby without thinking of the consequences for the child. All children want a good mommy AND daddy. That is a fact.
Just think about it... please.
