Can you legally change your name on a thai birth certificate?
My daughter wants to change her name, she was thinking of getting a deed pole but she wants to change her name on her birth certificate as well which would be easier if we could in the U.K but she was born in Thailand - Bangkok. We are residents of the UK with a British Passport.
If you could change your name legally on a thai birth certificate then could you in any locations within Wales or near either Bristol or London?
She is 14/15 years old and we want to change either both the forename and surname or just one of either.
Please if you could be any help at all do reply!
Many, many thanks.

You can find information here

But have in mind that a minor's name cannot be changed if there is no agreement of all who have parental responsibility.

It's a Thai birth certificate. I don't think she could do it in the UK; she would have to contact the authorities in Thailand.

And the idea of a BC, at least in those places I am familiar with (which, by-the-way do not include Thailand) is to document the circumstances of birth; not to change one's name some 14 years later.

Oh,no! I did not mind she could change the BC. I had in mind that she could legally change her last name in the UK.
Another problem will be that if a name change is allowed in the UK, she will have to have her previous name on all Thai documents as passport , etc.
