I have an 2001 chevy camaro v6, it keeps dying while I'm driving, shows no signs of anything wrong it just cuts out. Sometimes it will do it while I'm driving at 70mph and sometimes when I'm at an idle. Sometimes it will start right back up others times it will crank but not catch.the check engine light is on I've has it scanned art two different places the only code is a cat deficency

Check/replace the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting.

My key has a chip in it do you think that would have anything to do with it? Thanks

Yes, security system problems are some of the most vexing. Normally, you will need the dealer's help with these type of issues. You should be able, however, to check the switch out by yourself.
