Allowed? Are you kidding? American women do as they please as do European women. Perfumes are used as part of our regular grooming routine. Light scents in the daytime and more spice/musk after dark. Walk into a cloud of scent or spray above your head and fan your hair back and forth to get the smell into your hair. Some things are just normally female being clean, shaved, and smelling nice is a right that women have and should be accepted by all men.

You want an answer from a religious (Islamic) point of view, correct?

I found this answer here Perfumes with alcohol permissible in Islam? (http://www.islamiccentre.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=274:perfumes-with-alcohol-permissible-in-islam&catid=42:halal-faqs&Itemid=88) (Islamiccentre.org) --

Perfume is permitted in Islam. In fact, there are times when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) specifically asked Muslims to apply perfume, like when going to Jum'a prayer and Eid prayer.

The alcohol that features in many of high-street perfumes has divided the opinion of the scholars. Some argue that alcohol is forbidden in all of its forms, regardless of whether it is in a drink or in a perfume. Others say that the alcohol found in perfumes is nothing like the alcohol found in drinks; it is not consumable and does not intoxicate, which is why alcohol is forbidden in the first place.

The best option is try to avoid them if possible. Nowadays, there is a vast array of non-alcoholic perfumes available from Islamic shops. Most modern scholars do agree however that alcohol in perfume does not come under the prohibition of alcohol, simply because this cannot intoxicate a person.

Assalamu alaikum,

Yes a woman can wear perfume. But many muslim women stay away from ones that contain alcohol. Even if some allow it, some do not.

So you may want to check with your Imam, to see what he says about it.
